Looking for a painting that feels made for your home?
Whether you're inspired by a favorite place, a beloved house, or simply want a piece created in a palette that complements your space, I'd love to create something uniquely yours.
Every commission begins with a conversation about your space, your inspiration, and the colors you're drawn to. From there, I develop an original painting that feels both personal and timeless, created specifically for you.

Homeward
We start with a conversation about size, color, inspiration,
and the paintings of mine you are most drawn to. I mock up a sketch of the painting based on our conversation.
Once we have agreed on the details, you pay
a 50% deposit to secure your place.
This is where your painting comes to life. I create each piece by hand in my studio using layered brushwork and expressive color.
When your painting is complete, I'll carefully prepare it for its journey. Local collectors are welcome to arrange pickup, while all other commissions are packaged and shipped securely. Cost of shipping will be
arranged up front.
About
I'm Emily Haywood, a New England artist creating original paintings inspired by the architecture and landscapes that define the places we return to.
Working with bold color, expressive brushwork, and simplified forms, I create paintings that capture the feeling of a place rather than a literal representation of it. My work explores the balance between familiarity and abstraction, inviting viewers to bring their own memories and interpretations to each piece.
With a background in interior design, I'm especially interested in how art lives within a home. Each painting is created to feel both distinctive and timeless—bringing warmth, color, and a sense of place to the spaces we inhabit.
I paint from my studio in Boston, where I continue to explore the architecture, coastline, and quiet landscapes of New England.
